Mentor
Dr. Carolyn Coyne
Dissertation
Manipulation of host cell death and innate immune signaling pathways by Coxsackievirus B3
Education
PhD in Molecular Virology and Microbiology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, 2015
BS in Microbiology (Minor in French), Purdue University, 2010
Why I chose Pitt
During my interview, I was impressed with the integration of the graduate programs and UPMC. Having such close contact with patients makes biomedical research seem more relevant. Additionally, I loved the city during my interview and thought it seemed like a place I could be really happy.
Following her graduation, Katie accepeted a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Chicago in the lab of Dr. Eugene Chang.
