Dr. Fred Homa
Dissertation
The Role of the Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 UL28 Protein in Terminase Complex Assembly and Function
Education
PhD in Molecular Virology and Microbiology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, 2013
BS in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology (Minor in Chemistry), Clarion University of Pennsylvania, 2004
Why I chose Pitt
I was attracted by the Interdisciplinary program because at the time I was choosing a graduate school I had a general interest in virology and microbiology but nothing more specific. It allowed me to gain a better understanding of my interests without having to commit too early to a specific program.
Following his graduation, Jason accepted a position for a time as a Postdoctoral Associate in the lab of his mentor, Dr. Fred Homa.
