Why I chose Pitt
I chose the University of Pittsburgh because my interests aligned very well with many of the faculty and research projects in the program.  The University's excellent funding reputation, strong emphasis on collaboration, and research facilities were also very appealing for me.  Additionally, Pittsburgh is a very vibrant and welcoming city to live in. 
Following his graduation, Matt accepted a position as a Postdoctoral Associate in the lab of his mentor, Dr. Jennifer Bomberger, in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.
